Macedon, kingdom of Philip II, (359-336 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.415 grams), Amphipolis II mint, issued c.342/1-329/8 B.C., obv. head of Zeus laureate to right, dotted border, rev. naked youth or small man (Philip II), on horseback to right holding upright palm, stern below, above **FILIP [POU]*, (cf.S.6680, Le Rider Pl.39, cf. nos. 406-8, this obv. die D207, new rev. die, [p.111], SNG ANS 544). In high relief, well centred, round with attractive pale grey tone, nearly extremely fine and a very rare symbol.
