Thrace, Island off Thrace, Thasos, (c.465-411 B.C.), silver stater, (8.864 grams), obv. naked ithyphallic Satyr (classical style) in kneeling running attitude carrying off protesting nymph raising hand in protest, rev. quadripartite incuse square, (S.1746 [£425], Asyut Hoard -, BMC 24, Weber 2506). Very fine with good facial detail and very scarce.
