Laos, Kingdom of Lanchang, (1353-1571), base silver tamlung, 'Smooth surfaced elephant' lat money, struck at Lanchung (Luang Prabanga), (75.8 grams), three stamps on the upper surface of the obverse, plain reverse, with fixed symbols of elephant and Chakra and variable symbol lion to right on left, (cf.Le May Pl.IV; 4, M.2777 [£40]). Extremely fine and scarce.
