Netherlands, Groningen besieged by the Bishops of Cologne and Munster, diamond klippe of fifty stuivers or ecu, 1672, obv. IVRE ET TEMPORE, crowned arms, with additional engraved legend 'F H' across flan and in corners, 'Groningen Constrant, Be houdt van, T. Landt' (Cash within the country of Groningen) rev. normally uniface however this example with a detailed plan of the besieged city, (KM.27, Del. 736, and illustrated on plate 35, M.44.6-7). Very fine and very rare with engraved with the view of the city.
Delmonte notes in a footnote (p.173) that several of these pieces have been engraved with a view of the city and inscription or another object. This example with a plan of the city and the additional engraved details on the obverse is apparently unpublished.
