Octavian and Julius Caesar, (assassinated 44 B.C.), AE sestertius, South Italy mint (probably Puteoli), struck 38 B.C.?, (26.91 grams), obv. head of Octavian to right, bearded, before, CAESAR, behind DIVI.F rev. wreathed head of Julius Caesar, before DIVOS, IVLIVS behind, (S.465 [£450], Cr.535/1, Syd.1335). Dark green patina, worn legends, otherwise fine with good portraits of Caesar and Octavian, rare.
