Julius Caesar and Mark Antony, (43 B.C.), silver denarius, Gallia Transalpina and Cisalpina mint, (3.67 grams), obv. M ANTON IMP R.P.C., around Mark Antony bare head to right, dotted border, rev. CAESAR DIC before laureate head of Julius Caesar, jug behind, dotted border, (S.422 [£850], Cr.488/2, Syd.1166, C. Julius Caesar and Mark Antony 3 [£380]), Slightly off centred on the obverse, otherwise nearly very fine/very fine with an attractive even dark tone and with an good portrait of Caesar and Antony, rare.

Ex. Spink & Son, London, Numismatic Circular December 1980, (10121) with ticket. This coin represents an opportunity to acquire another good detailed portrait of Julius Caesar issued a year after his assassination. The coin was issued in the period April 43 to the autumn of 43 B.C.
