Cassius, (43-42 B.C.), silver denarius, mint moving with Brutus and Cassius, (3.65 grams), obv. diademed head of Liberty to right, C. CASSI. IMP LEIBERTAS around, rev. jug and lituus, LENTVLVS SPINT below, (S.386 [£275], Cr.500/3, Syd.1307, C. Cassius 4 [£160]). Edge nicks, otherwise very fine and very scarce.
Ex. Duke of Northumberland Collection, Sotheby's London, November 4, 1982, (lot 474 part). Smyth IV/21. Crawford has determined that less than 30 obverse dies were used for this type.
