T. Carisius, (46 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.57 grams), obv. head of Juno Moneta to right, MONETA behind, rev. cap of Vulcan over anvil between tongs and hammer, T. CARISIVS above, (S.321 [£140], Cr.464/2, Syd.982, B. Carisia 1a [£45]). Very fine and scarce.

Ex Spink & Son, London, Numismatic Circular December 1980 (10120, illustrated) with ticket. 120 obverse dies calculated for this coin type according to Crawford. The coin is a direct allusion to the office of moneyer. All the other types (see next lot) refer to the triumphs of Julius Caesar.
