L. Torquatus, (c.113-112 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.65 grams), obv. Roma helmeted head to right, ROMA behind, X under chin, all within torques, rev. warrior horseman galloping to left, Q behind, [L.] TORQVA BELOW below, EX SC in exergue, (S.-, Cr.295/1, Syd.518). Nearly very fine and scarce.
Ex. Glendining's London, May 16, 1973 (lot 448 part). 40 obverse dies used on this coinage according to Crawford.
