L. Amtestius Gragulus, (136 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.86 grams), obv. Roma helmeted head right, * below chin, GRAG behind, rev. Jupiter in quadriga to right, L.ANTES monogram below, ROMA in exergue; another C. Curiatius Trigeminus, (135 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.15 grams), obv. Roma head left, X below chin, TRIG behind, rev. Jupiter in quadriga to right, C.CVR [F] below, ROMA in exergue, (S.202, -, Cr.238/1, 240/1a, Syd.451, 459). Good very fine/very fine; fine and this rare. (2)
Ex. Mark Vincenzi Colchester, October 2, 1978 for the first coin and Christie's March 7, 1985 (lot 48 part) for the second coin. Only 14 obverse dies used on the issue of C. Curiatius Trigeminus for all types of the denarii issues according to Crawford.
