VESPASIAN, (A.D. 69-79), AE as, Rome mint, issued A.D. 71, (7.614 grams), obv. laureate head of Vespasian to right, around IMP CAES VESPASIA[N AVG COS I]II, rev. around IVDAEA CAPTA, S C in exergue, Jewess seated to right mourning under a palm tree, surrounded by arms, (S.802 [£325], RIC 491, C.245). Apple green patina, good portrait, partial legends, otherwise fine and rare.
