NERO, (A.D. 54-68), AE Sestertius, issued c.64, Rome mint, (26.6 grams), obv. laureate head to right of Nero, around [NERO C]LAVD CAESAR AVG GER P M TR P IMP PP, rev. Ceres on right veiled and draped seated left, holding torch, feet on stool, Annona draped standing facing, right hand on hip, left hand holds cornucopiae, modius between them on altar, ship's stern behind, around ANNONA [AVGVS]TI CERES, S C in exergue, (S.678 [£400], RIC 150, BMC 190, WCN 106). Weak in places, otherwise very fine and a rare type.
