Group of Five. Distinguished Flying Medal (EIIR); Australian Active Service Medal 1945-1975 - one bar - Korea; Korea Medal; United Nations General Service Medal- Korea; Air Medal (United States). A34233 Sgt. T.C. Armstrong 77 Sqdn. RAAF. First and second medals engraved, last unnamed, others impressed. Second medal loose in case of issue and with miniature. Others court mounted for wear. Very fine.

DFM: C.G. 7 July 1953: 'Sergeant Armstrong was a member of No.77 (Interceptor/Fighter) Squadron, Korea, from April, 1952 to October, 1952, and during these months flew a total of one hundred and sixty three sorties against the enemy. Throughout his entire tour, Sergeant Armstrong demonstrated that, even when intense anti-aircraft fire was encountered over a target, he was willing to press into a low altitude, thus displaying complete disregard for his own personal safety. His tenacity, ability, initiative and general cheerfulness has brought great credit upon himself and the Service to which he belongs'.
