MC: 'For meritorious service in the field under fire. This officer has served in New Guinea continuously for a period of 12 months as RMO. As a result of his very thorough prior organisation and training of his medical staff Captain Glynn Connolly rendered service of an exceptionally high order during the Salamaua Campaign. On the afternoon of 18 Aug 1942 a patrol located a unit officer who had been wounded 24 hours previously whilst reconnoitering a Japanese perimeter on Scout Ridge. Captain Glynn Connolly immemdiately proceeded into enemy territory to aid the wounded officer and his timely assistance and skill undoubtedly saved that officer's life. On 29 Aug 1943 D Coy 42 Inf Bn attacked Charlie's Hill. The Company was in a very advanced position and the nature of the country rendered evacuation of casualties a very difficult and protracted operation. Captain Glynn Connolly established a forward RAP with the attacking company and operated under enemy fire and in the worst conditions with a complete disregard of his own safety. His undoubted skill and devotion to duty at all times and the early treatment he was able to afford casualties saved lives and assisted materially in maintaining the morale of the unit at a high standard. Throughout the whole period of his services with the unit this capable and conscientious officer has rendered services of an exceptionally high standard'.
