Knight Bachelor's Badge, 2nd type breast badge, in Garrard & Co., London, case of issue; 3rd type neck badge, in Spink & Son Ltd, London, case of issue. Two badges. Uncirculated.
Sir John Minogue (1909-1989). Educated at St Kevin's College and Melbourne University. He spent two years as a solicitor in Bendigo before he was called to the Victorian Bar in 1939. He served in the Army from 1940 to 1946. On returning to civilian life he practised law, becoming a Queen's Counsel in 1957 and was a member of the Victorian Bar Council 1958 to 1962, when he was appointed judge of the Supreme Court of the Territory of Papua and New Guinea, serving as Chief Justice 1970 to 1974. He was knighted in 1976 and became Victorian law reform commissioner in 1977. Together with sports fob in gold (15ct, 15.6gms, 31 x 39mm), inscribed on obv. 'J.P.M. / W & N.E.F.A.' and on rev.
