Group of Eight: India General Service Medal 1908-35 (GVR) 'Ind Imp' - one bar - North West Frontier 1935; India General Service Medal 1936-39 - two bars - North West Frontier 1936-37; North West Frontier 1937-39; 1939-45 Star; Burma Star; France and Germany Star; Defence Medal; British War Medal 1939-45 with M.I.D.; Normandy Medal. 515317 A.C.1. T.A.Blake R.A.F. on first two medals, 7038 on last medal. First and last medals impressed, second medal engraved, others unnamed. Mounted for display. Very fine - extremely fine.

Blake joined the RAF as an apprentice armourer posted to The North West Frontier - India, serving with No.60 Squadron as corporal. In 1940 he served with No.16 squadron at Aston Down as a sargeant. Posted to 317 Squadron (Czech) as a Flying Officer when the squadron was attached to 2nd TAF in 131 of 84th Group for the invasion of Europe he was with 3205 Servicing Commando and helpedset up the first landing strip on the Normandy beach head D.Day, he was sent to the Far East, where in Burma, Blake was Mentioned in Despatches for Defusing bombs on crashed aircraft.
