STRAITS SETTLEMENTS JOHNSON, Matthey and Co., advertising checks for refiners (for coinage), Hatton Garden, utilizing the official Royal Mint obverse dies for the 20 cents and 10 cents coins 1871-77, struck in aluminium (1.5 and 1.0 grams) at the Royal Mint and exhibited at the Paris Exhibition of 1878 (see Pridmore lot 192, Ford lots 650, 1). Brilliant uncirculated and rare (2).
