Sydney University, an important group of cased prize medals awarded to Mungo Lorenz MacCallum, a) silver (42mm), Senior Public Examinations 1902, Ancient History, another similar b) 1902, English, another similar c) History of Europe, another similar junior Public Exam 1900, Greek, another similar in bronze (52.5mm), B.A. Examination 1906, Classics, all cased by John Hurst & Co, 321 George St. Sydney; another similar bronze medal (52.5mm), uncased for B.A. Degree 1947 History awarded to MacCallum, O.M., all by Amor. Extremely fine, four in silver and two in bronze. (6)
Mungo Lorenz MacCullum (1884-1833) lawyer, university teacher and journalist was educated at Sydney Grammer and obtained a B.A. from Sydney University. He was a Rhodes Scholar 1906 and attended Oxford University being awarded a M.A. and a B.C.L. He became a tutor at St. Andrews College at the University of Sydney then a lecturer in Roman Law. From 1912 he was a writer and reviewer for the Sydney Morning Herald. The B.A. award medal of 1947 was to a relative.
