Friendly and Benefit Societies, Bath Society for the investigation and relief of occasional distress/established 1805 in copper (31mm) edge grained right (D&W.104/29; M.G.1002; M.&Y.42), Ilminster Friendly Society in copper (32mm) beehive obverse, countermarked CS twice on reverse and pierced for wear (D&W.137/284;M.G.1045;M&Y.135) (illustrated). Cerne Society 1805 in copper (29mm) countermarked horses head, RB No.83 (D&W.115/121; M.G.-) (illustrated), Manchester Unity, Manchester District Relief Fund and Salford District Relief Fund, both in copper (32mm) (M.G.1101-2) (the first with mint red, both illustrated). Old Crown Benefit Society in copper (21mm) (D&W.171/540) (illustrated) another with Dukes crown/clasped hands and no legend in brass (22mm) (illustrated), another in copper (27mm) with Friendly Society in 2 lines on reverse (illustrated). Fine-good extremely fine, second scarce or rare. (8)
