Indenture on vellum, between Trustees of Savings Bank of NSW, and John Gurner, 27 Feb. 1871, on land held in the Cooks river area of 35 & 50 acres, relieving other parties of debt on these properties, affixed with seal of bank, another for Conveyancing between Frederick Thomas Humphery (for estate of Wakford) to John Gurner, 7th March 1873, another on paper between Archibald walker and John Gurner, 13th March 1843, for land at Rushcutters Bay. (3)
John Gurner (1792-1882), solicitor, arrived Sydney 1817 and was appointed chief clerk of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. In September 1832 he received a small grant of land at Rushcutters Bay. he was a collector of Australiana and a close friend of Dr. william Bland.
