Description

China, Chou Dynasty, Middle to late period, (403-221 B.C.), bronze, round head with round shoulders and feet, spade money with three holes, value twenty, State of Peiyang (Northern Sun), 'Mao Yang Chin', (13.9 grams), height 76mm, (cf.Coole Vol.3 4408, 4410, Sch.-; cf.TFP 413, 416). Light dirt adhering to green surface, otherwise nearly fine and extremely rare, apparently unpublished.

On the reverse it reads Erh-shih = 20 on the handle and T'a = lamb or kid on the main part. This Coole notes would lead one to think that it was valid for the exchange or purchase of a lamb or kid.
