Mamluk Sultan, al-Nasir Nasir abu al-Sa`adat al din Faraj, first reign, (A.H. 801-808) (A.D. 1399-1405), gold heavy dinar, (9.94 grams), Al Qahira mint (Cairo, Egypt), A.H. 806 = A.D. 1403-1404, obv. & rev. six lines of legend with various symbols in the field, (A.977, Balog 618, same obverse die to that illustrated in Balog, cf.Noble Numismatics sale 51 [lot 4234, same dies]). Crinkled, otherwise very fine and rare for this date.
