Sassanian King, Ardashir, I (A.D. 224-240), silver drachm, (4.22 grams), obv. bearded bust to right of king, wearing hairball on top of head, legend around, rev. fire altar, without attendants (Sellwood type IV, not on Plate, Gobl 16, M.788). Good very fine and a extremely rare type.
