Thrace, Maroneia, (386/5-348/7 B.C.), silver stater, (10.67 grams), obv. prancing horse to right of fine style with loose reign, below MAP**W, rev. four bunches of grapes within square attached to vine branch, around **[E]PI [I]KE SIO, and caduceus to left, (S.1631 [£650], Schonert Geis 425 (same dies, noted as V9, R14, [p.155, Pl.19], SNG Lockett 1200, BMC 25, West NNM 40 [1929] No.139). Some surface porosity and weak in places, minor edge oxidation, nearly very fine and very rare.

Ex. Giessener Munzhandlung, Munich auctions Sale 64, October 11, 1993 (lot 936 part). Schonert-Geiss reports 6 specimens for this die combination and a total of 21 known specimens known of this magistrate, and most with the MAP**W* obverse field.
