Description

Macedon, Roman Provincial issue, (c.90-75 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.57 grams), obv. head of Alexander the Great to right, with horn of Ammon and flowing hair, MAKE**DONWN*, rev. AESILLAS / Q above club between money chest and quaestor's chair, all within olive wreath, (S.1463, BMC 81-83, SNG Von Post 50 [this coin]). Well centred on the obverse, scratch in reverse field, otherwise, very fine and scarce.
