AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY OF NEW SOUTH WALES, award medal in bronze (89mm), awarded to 'J.W.Curtis Esq / Victoria / Oil Painting / Class / 1874'. Edge knocks, otherwise very fine.

James Waltham Curtis (b.Devonshire 1839, d.1901) painter, represented in the Intercolonial Exhibition in Melbourne, 1875 being described in the catalogue as the 'Australian Gericault'. J.W.Curtis is represented in numerous private collections in Australia.
