As Rome mint (struck by C. Plotius Rufus c. 15 B.C.) Obv. Bare head of Augustus right Rev. C PLOTIVS RVFVS III VIR AAAFF around SC (RIC 389;C.-;Sear cf.510). Some corrosion but portrait clear, very good.
III VIR AAAFF stands for tresviri aere argento auro flando feriundo, the college of three moneying magistrates responsible for the issue of the base coinages.
