Bengal Presidency, Murshidabad mint, 1830 milled issue, perpetual 19 san sicca series, copy of standard gold currency, in the name of Shah Alam II (A.H.1173-1221, A.D.1759-1806), gold mohur, (12.195 grams), Regnal year 19 (fixed), with crescent privy mark for the new Calcutta mint and with oblique milling to right, (cf.Pr. 401 (cf.Pr.84), cf.KM. 114). Good very fine, rare.
Ex. Sotheby's auction sale, Nov. 30, 1973 (lot 230) and Noble Numismatics Sale 48 (lot 2160). $$ The cresent appearing on a very fine quality copy of the mohur is very unusual. Pridmore neither lists or owned a specimen of this type of copy.
