Bengal Presidency, Murshidabad mint, 1793 second milled issue, perpetual 19 san sicca series, copy of standard gold currency, in the name of Shah Alam II (A.H.1173-1221, A.D.1759-1806), gold half mohur, (5.81 grams), Regnal year 19 (fixed), without privy mark and with straight over oblique milling to right, (Pr. 402, cf.KM. 101). Extremely fine, rare.

Ex. Dr. Hamilton Collection, (Adelaide, South Australia), Spink Australia Sale 6 (lot 1616 part) and Noble Numismatics Sale 48 (lot 2161). The remilling of the edge has not previously been noted for these jewellery pieces.
