Description

Bank of Otago, The Otago Banking Company, only issue, one pound, Dunedin, hand written in date 27th May 1895, written in 95 over 185, not numbered, no imprint, signed with signatures, (L.552, P.S337, Sutherland p.185 and otherpages, Hargreaves p.65-75). Not issued, with some staining, a complete note, many creases and folds, some discolouration, otherwise very good and rare.

Ex. A. Halligan Collection. The company is fully discussed in the above references but its notes were never officially issued, due the company failing to obtain a charter. The signatures and date are a later addition probably as an attempt to defraud.
