Marcus Aurelius, (A.D. 161-180), issued as Caesar, struck at Rome in 148-9, AE sestertius, (23.0 grams), obv. AVRELIVS CAE SAR AVG P II F, bare head to right, rev. S C across field, Pietas standing left, holding child, child at feet on left, around TR POT III COS II, PIETAS in exergue, another issued 165-6, (20.7 grams), rev. Victory to left flying left, (cf.S.1387, -, RIC 1280 (Ant. Pius), 925 (MA), C.444, 990). First coin with some minor surface corrosion, otherwise nearly very fine; second coin very good, both scarce.
