Italy, Lucania, Velia, (c.350-320 B.C.), silver stater or didrachm, (7.26 grams), obv. head of Athena to left, wearing Phrygian helmet, ornamented with centaur, rev. lion standing to left, devouring piece of meat held between fore-paws, **UELHTWN in exergue, **F below lion, (cf.S.456, Williams 352 [These Dies], SNG Cop. 1568), another (c.365-350 B.C.), obv. head of Athena in Attic helmet, rev. lion walking to right, (cf.S.454, Williams 262, SNG ANS 1293). First with surface pitting and fine, second very good. (2)
