Murder of Sir Edmundbury Godfrey, 1678, silver 38mm, by G. Bower, cast and chased, bust right being strangled with his own cravat, rev. prostrate man being strangled, watched by a Papal figure. Good - very fine.
(MI 577/247, Eimer 257). The murder of Godfrey was blamed on Catholics.
