JAMES HARDY VAUX, "Memoirs of James Hardy Vaux, A Swindler and Theif (sic) - Now Transported to New South Wales For The Second Time, And For Life", second edition, London 1827, printed for Hunt and Clarke, 8vo, 288 pp, original binding. Very fine and rare.
James Hardy Vaux was an English born colourful character transported to NSW three times in 1801, 1810, 1831. He wrote the first autobiography and the first dictionary of "flash language" in Australia.
