Description

Australian Military Forces, Australian Military Forces, white ceramic glazed cheese dish and cover with handle, from an Army mess, made by Maddock, England (marked Vitreous Hotel Ware), with a blue coloured Rising Sun badge (QC) painted on the dish and on the cover before glazing; small coffee cup and saucer, on one side of the cup are the crossed flags of Great Britain and Belgium and on the other side are the crossed flags of France and Serbia, and in the centre is a warship and below is the legend, "Might In The Right Cause Shall Prevail/European War" and on the saucer is the same warship image and legend (some faded), and with golden edge on the lip of the cup and the saucer, both marked on the base, "Jackson & Gosling/Grosvenor China/England/Reg No 643424".
