New Zealand, Certificate of Discharge, a parchment document dated at Dunedin on 20 November 1913 and confirmed on 26 November 1913 for the discharge of No. 100 Gunner Thomas Fitzpatrick of Royal N.Z. Artillery having reached the age for retirement after an unblemished record of over 34 years service; World War II, small b&w photograph of three soldiers marked on reverse, 'Snowy Gillespie, Captain Harry/Barnett, 2nd L/T A.B.Cottrel (sic) M.C./Fuka,/Western Desert/Egypt/Xmas Day 1941'.

Thomas Fitzpatrick died on 8 March 1919 at his residence at South Dunedin and was buried the next day at Anderson's Bay Cemetery.

Second Lieutenant (later Captain) Astley Bernard Cottrell was a member of 21 (Auckland) Infantry Battalion and was awarded a Military Cross on 19 March 1942. He was also a member of Jayforce 1945-48.
