Father's medal engraved on obverse, "Hugh Middleton" and around edge "Presented By The Shanghai Municipality". Son's medals - 2 Lieut H.Middleton York R on first medal, Capt H.Middleton on second and third medals, Sergeant 191 H.Middleton on last medal. First three medals impressed, fourth to sixth unnamed, last medal engraved.
