Description

The Mather Medal, Mirzapor Mission, 1867, in bronze (47mm), obverse, the eunuch of the court of Candace, Queen of Ethiopia, seated in a chariot on the left, reading the prophet Isaiah while a slave holds the horses of the chariot, and the evangelist Philip approaches, raising his left hand towards heaven and pointing with his right to the open book that the eunuch has on his lap.
