Cockaynes Leviathan Ch Ch, check in brass (28mm), uniface (G.12e; TMR.-). Nearly fine and very rare.
Cockayne's Leviathan Hotel was built on the south-east corner of Manchester and St Asaph Streets, Christchurch. It was the city's largest hotel and was built in 1909 for the Eliza White Trust. It had 180 guest rooms and even a private dining room for ladies.
