"For conspicuous good work and devotion to duty. Both as a Lance-Corporal and as Transport Sergeant since March 1918 Sergt Green has carried out the duties of Transport Sergeant in a most able manner. Frequently he has guided the limbers by night and day to new destinations through shellfire, and through his good judgement the limbers have at all times delivered rations to the Battalion and returned safely to the lines. His untiring energy and his conscientious discharge of all duties have been an example to the whole Battalion."
