West Plains, handcrafted in gold (9ct, tot wt 14.8g, 40x30mm), by G.Munro (Invercargill), supported by a cloth fob piece with attached gold trim, inscribed on obverse 'For King and Empire' and on the reverse 'To/Pte.J.H.Russell/From West Plains Friends/On His Return/From the Great War/15.8.18'. Very fine.
34926 Pte James Henry Russell, 20th Reinforcements, Otago Infantry Battalion, D Company, NZEF, embarked from New Zealand 30 December 1916.
