TRIO TO 9LHR WITH MID: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19 with MID. 480 Pte A.Rowe. 9/L.H.Rgt. A.I.F. on first medal, 480 T/Sjt A.Rowe. 9 L.H.Rgt. A.I.F. on second medal, 480 T-Sjt A.Rowe. 9 L.H.R. A.I.F. on last medal. All medals impressed. Display mounted on a cardboard sheet with photo and badges, very fine.
Together with King's Silver War badge, reverse numbered A79692; Ninth Light Horse (Flinders Light Horse) Regiment lapel badge (1930-42) in voided silvered and enamel (23x30mm), lug back, by Stokes & Sons, Melb, incorporates Ninth Light Horse enamel colour patch (maybe an association badge) (Rare); a series of small b&w photos, all with description written on reverse and most appear to be scenes of the AIF in Palestine.
MID: LG 14/6/1918, p7058; CAG 7/11/1918, p2113, to 480 Lance Corporal Arthur Rowe, Light Horse. (Mentioned in General Allenby's despatches for distinguished and gallant services and devotion to duty.)
Arthur Rowe, labourer, age 29, born at Daylesford, Vic; Enl.07Oct1914 at Melbourne, Vic in 9LHR; Emb.11Feb1915; TOS 9LHR 20Nov1915 at Heliopolis; to be L/Cpl 02Jan1917; relinquishes rank 05Aug1917; to railway construction works Kantara for course of instruction 21Aug1917; to T/Cpl 27Feb1918, T/Sgt 10Apr1918, and revert to L/Cpl 29Jun1918; MID 03Apr1918; promoted Cpl 18Nov1918; specially brought before G.O.C. for work in connection with Railway Construction 06Dec1918; RTA 29Apr1919; Disch.20Sep1919.
