Rosebery, handcrafted in gold (18ct, 15g, 45x28mm), by G.& T.Y. (G. & T. Young, Dunedin), ring top suspension, obverse shield inscribed '8/17', reverse inscribed 'The/Great War/1914-1918/A Token Of Honour/To/W.C.Burdett/From/Rosebery Residents/On His Return From/4 1/2 Years/Active Service'. Extremely fine and rare as a tribute fob in 18ct gold.
8/17 Pte William Clement Burdett, Otago Infantry Battalion, embarked from New Zealand 16 October 1914. 'Rosebery' was the name of the farm station of Mr Angus Ross at Herbert.
