Caversham School, Dux, 1897, fob medal, hand engraved in silver (40x33mm), English maker and hallmark, inscribed 'Bernard Murphy'; Otago Boys High School, 1902, Dux medal in gold (15ct, 10.0g, 45x45mm), by Souness (E.Souness, Dunedin), reverse inscribed 'B.E.Murphy'; another, fob medal hand engraved in gold (probably 18ct, 10.0g, 35x30mm), by G. & T.Y. (G. & T. Young, Dunedin), obverse inscribed 'Chamber/of/Commerce/Eng. and Arithc./Senior/1902', reverse inscribed 'Otago/Boys' High School/B.E.Murphy'. The first nearly fine having been worn on a fob chain; second extremely fine; third good very fine, all with ring top suspensions. (3)
Bernard Egan Murphy served overseas twice during WWI. His occupation was listed as Civil Servant, Wellington.
