Description

Wales-New Zealand, (1980), struck in silver (50mm), by Royal Mint (D.J.G.), hallmark for London, 1980, coat of arms on obverse with dates 1905, 1924, 1935, 1953, 1963, 1972, 1978 and 1980, reverse 'To Commemorate 75 Years of Rivalry and Friendship' (M&P.1980/7); another, as last, struck in bronze (50mm) (M&P.1980/7). Extremely fine and rare, only 50 silver medals struck. (2)

In Royal Mint fitted cases with descriptive cards 'This Cardiff-New Zealand Rugby Commemorative Medallion has been specially designed and commissioned from the Royal Mint by the 1953 Cardiff XV Reunion Committee'.
