Pollok, (65th) Jubilee, 1883-1948, silvered (26mm), with stick-pin, no maker but probably Theo Mayer, Auckland (M&P.-); Gallipoli - Ake Ake, map struck in brass (40mm), with stick-pin (M.G/3); Our Day, 1917, struck in brass (24mm), with stick-pin (M.1917/2); N.Z. Sports Protection League, 1912, struck in silver (17mm), with stick-pin (M.-). Extremely fine, all scarce. (4)
The first unlisted in MacMaster & Purdy, the last unlisted in Morel.
Pollok is on the sea coast, south of Manukau Harbour, 48m SW of Auckland. Named by pioneer settlers from Pollokshaws, a suburb of Glasgow.
Ex W.H.Lampard Collection, Noble Numismatics Sale 78B, 6-7 April 2005 (lot 2983) and previously the first ex Howard Mitchell with his ticket, the second ex Bill Leggett in 1984.
