Charles I, (1625 - 1649), Shrewsbury mint, silver crown, mm pellet, dated 1642, Morrieson B-5, (29.33 grams), obv. Shrewsbury horseman on groundline, plume without band in field, rev. three plumes without bands in field, seven pellets in legend after INIMICI, (S.2926, N.2370, Brooker 809 [same dies). Toned, minor flan crack, round and attractive, nearly very fine and rare.

Noble Collection, sold Glendining's London, 11-12 December 1975 (lot 662), and previously from the Lt.Col. Henry Walters Morrieson Collection, sold at Sotheby's London, November 20, 1933 (lot 456 and not the published example in his paper Pl.III, 27) and noted as coming from the Henry Harrison Allan Collection, sold Sotheby's London July 7, 1908 (lot 212).
