ANASTASIUS II, (A.D. 713-715), gold solidus, Constantinople mint, Officina S (6th officinae), (4.34 g), obv. bust facing of Anastasius II, with close beard, holding cross on globe, wearing chlamys, around dN APTEM[IY] A NASTASIYS MYL, rev. Cross potent on three steps, around [VIC]TORIA AVGUS, [CONOB] in exergue, (S.1463, DOC 2, cf.BMC 1 = To.1, MIB 2). Struck slightly off centre, with some mint bloom, nearly extremely fine and a very rare issue.
