LEONTIUS, (695-698 A.D.), gold solidus, (4.43 g), Constantinople Mint, 2nd officina, Struck 695-698, obv. Crowned bust facing, wearing loros, holding akakia and globus cruciger, around D LEO N [pe AV], rev. cross potent set on three steps, around VICTORIA AVGU BA, CONOB in exergue, (S.1331A, DOC 2 var, BMC-). Struck off centre, minor area of roughness and a few light scratches, nearly extremely fine and rare.
