Opal brooch, c1935, in gold (15ct; 8.54g; 63x15mm), attributed to Stevenson Bros, features a decorated double bar and in the centre is a claw held oval Andamooka opal and at the sides are smaller claw held oval Andamooka opals, pin-back with safety chain, with Stevenson Bros fitted case. Extremely fine.

Note: Andamooka is derived from the aboriginal name "Andenorka" and is in the middle of the desert 30km from Roxby Downs in South Australia and where opals were discovered in the late 1920s.
